Arizona's anti-bullying statute requires all school districts to have an an anti-bullying policy. The bullying policy includes, at least, a procedure for parents to notify school administrators about bullying and a procedure for the schools to investigate bullying. Unfortunately, parents are not aware of the policies - until it is too late.

Bullying is not only physically harmful to a child but emotionally as well. Examples of bullying behavior include:
- Saying hurtful and unpleasant things
- Making fun of others
- Using mean and hurtful nicknames
- Deliberately excluding someone from a group of friends
- Hitting, kicking, pulling hair or pushing
- Spreading false rumors
- Trying to get other students to dislike another person
If bullying has been ongoing, we can evalute if you have a personal injury action, and advise on potential claims, potential defendants and relief (damages) to which you may be entited. We can advise if you have other avenues to pursue (including disability harassment claims, due process, state complaints, etc.). Also, a child who has a disability may have additional claims if they are victims of bullying. We will review with you what the school did that it should not have done, or what it should have done but did not. We will evaluate whether the school district, charter school or private school is or may be liable. We give guidance to all our clients on how to effectively handle bullying.
